On a RARE Friday night off, DJ Danny D and friends will travel to the "Old Port" this evening for a comedy show at the Comedy Connection in Portland, Maine.

Tonight's featured act is Massachusetts native Paul D'Angelo.  Paul takes normal everyday experiences and makes them sound absolutely hilarious.  He has an energetic, charasmatic stage presence and is one the best headliners even to take the stage in Portland, ME.

The Comedy Connection of Portland continues the tradition of providing top quality entertainment every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

We'll take a picture (for the blog) with Mr. D'Angelo tonight…

Attention: All high schools and colleges looking for Quality New England DJ Entertainment

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Dear Sir or Madam,

With a new school year underway, I wanted to offer my services to all high schools and colleges in the area of DJ Entertainment. My name is Danny DeBruin and I am the owner of New England’s Premier Dance DJ, “DeBruin Entertainment”.

Having performed for thousands of students at schools and colleges throughout New England, I bring the energy and professionalism to lead your school’s event. Perhaps you are looking at DJ entertainment for a Homecoming or Welcoming Dance, Halloween Costume Party, Winter Formal, Prom, Valentines Dance, Spring Fling, or Alumni Event? Have you ever thought of live music for an upcoming athletic event against an arch rival school?

DeBruin Entertainment comes equipped with tremendous digital sound and a dazzling light show.  In fact, its one of the most extensive light shows you will see from any mobile DJ in New England.  Our digital sound system consists 4 professional JBL powered speakers with enough power to play for 2000 guests, if necessary.

Our DJ's mix a number of crowd participation dances throughout the event and will organize games or activities, if requested.  Give-a-ways will add to the excitement with DeBruin Entertainment passing out glow sticks, Itunes / Dunkin Donuts gift cards and t-shirts.  Quality is never compromised, no matter how big or small the event may be.

Booking a DJ isn't something that we do everyday, so it's important you find the right entertainment to fit the needs of your school.  I truly enjoy what I do and would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

For more information, please contact us at (207) 577-1212 or debruin@musicmixingdjs.com.

I look forward to celebrating with your school in the near future.

Sincerely,

Danny DeBruin

Maine Wedding DJ explains: How to choose the right DJ for your Wedding Day

Posted by: admin | Comments (1)
Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Choosing a DJ or Wedding Entertainer is very difficult for couples today, that is why I recommend that you search for someone you can trust in your heart and who you feel really is compatible with your tastes and vision of your wedding day and not just rely on whom offers the lowest price or who offers the most bells and whistles.  Remember to ask as many questions as possible and especially talk or meet with them.  We try to answer as many questions on our emails from brides, but to be very honest, emails are so not personable and we encourage you to always try to call or meet with your DJ first, so you can get a better feel of their work and experience and most important their personality.

We understand that for most people, choosing a Wedding Entertainer/DJ is often difficult and confusing, yet the most important decision you will make for your wedding reception. Since everyone claims to be "the best", how can you really find out who is good, and who is amateur?  For a once in a lifetime events like a wedding reception, you best start with a professional. Don't take chances with "a friend of a friend." Although people mean well, lack of experience or skill will not prepare them to handle the complexity of a wedding reception.

Meet your wedding entertainer/DJ in person if you can or at least by phone with the DJ or Entertainment Company.  This is not a decision that can be made over the internet, by emails only. You must be sure you are comfortable with the DJ's style and see if it is a good match for you. After all, they will be representing you at your wedding ceremony & reception.

Be sure to check the history and background of the DJ Company. Do they have references? What makes them stand out as a wedding DJ expert? And don't just take their word for it, call several of their references and find out WHY the client loved their DJ/Entertainer. Our testimonials & background references are always listed on our website for Brides & Grooms to view.

Don't make the mistake of choosing a DJ by price alone. If the DJ is not a good fit, but the right price, it won't matter a bit if he ruins your special day that you spent big money and many months planning.

It has been proven that your DJ is responsible for 80% of the success of the wedding.
So, I highly recommend you do your homework in choosing the perfect DJ for the most important day of your life. Please feel free to contact us at (207) 577-1212 or email me at debruin@musicmixingdjs.com if you need some free advice in picking a Wedding DJ.  I would love to help you at no cost. Remember, while a photographer captures the moments of the day, the Wedding DJ Entertainer creates the fun and excitements of day. Which DJ do you want to represent you on your wedding day?

Maine Wedding DJ provides the Music Library Essentials

Maine DJ Danny D sees music as the essential ammunition for a disc jockey.  Without a good music selection, you're starting your event behind the eight ball, guaranteed.  quality-maine-disc-jockey-music-list.JPG

A complete music library contains cocktail, dinner, and dancing music spanning the 1940's to the present.  It includes every type of music you will need for the events you perform.  General catergories include oldies, motown, big band, rock, top 40, disco, country, r&B, hip-hop, alternative, and new music.

www.djzone.net, www.mobilebeat.com, www.djtimes.com, and www.partypros.com are examples of website that contain excellent music lists for a magnitude of venues.

The secret to building a music library on a budget is to buy only what your audience demands, not every song that you like. Your music library should be defined by the types of events you work and demographics of the guests at those affairs.  Quality DJ's will sacrifice their personal music preference for the success of the event.
