While searching for the perfect entertainment on your special occasion, you may have noticed that DJ's will charge anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars.
Many of you may be asking yourself, "Why is there such a large difference in the prices of DJ's? Don't they just play music?"
The answer is a simple NO.
The Disc Jockey Industry has made great strides and improvements since 1999 in the quality and services they provide. Associations, Magazines, DJ Newspapers, Seminars and Conventions have formed to better educate DJ's of the importance of what they do and to elevate their quality and service.
Unfortunately, this is NOT true for all DJ's. Some (for what ever reason) refuse to attend these educational opportunities and contine to provide sub-par to mediocre disc jockey service. These inexperienced DJ exhibitionists send thousands of guests home dissappointed year after year after year.
If you hire an inexperienced or sub standard (average) disc jockey service, it can have a profound effect on the success of your event. For example: You've rented the hall until 12:00am but because of poor entertainment, your guests leave by 10:00pm. Not only did you pay too much for your entertainment, but also paid two extra hours for the hall, bar service, and wait staff that won't be used all because your disc jockey couldn't entertain your guests. End Result = Money wasted and disappointed guests.
Have you ever heard this? "I could hire my friend to DJ and save some money".
Yes, you can but unless your friend is a professional DJ, it will be a disaster the same as if you did your own dental work. A DJ is a professional that knows through experience which songs to play when, and how to professionally interact with the crowd while keeping the dance floor filled with an atmosphere that is conducive to celebration. These disc jockey characteristics come from years of training and experience in leading events with an extensive knowledge of music and equipment. There are thousands of people who thought they could just hire a friend to play CD's at their wedding or special event; later they wish they could go back in time and hire a professional.

The Registration office at University of New England will release at 1:00pm for the day! Longhorn Steakhouse will be filled with fun and laughter as our dynamic team of colleagues celebrate a successful academic year.

On Friday night, December 14th, 2007, Maine Disc Jockey Danny DeBruin traveled to the VFW in South Portland for a Holiday Celebration with the United States Coast Guard.
Maine DJ Service, DeBruin Entertainment played Master of Ceremonies and Musical Host for approximately 80 guests. The night began at 6:00pm with cocktails and social hour. The buffet style dinner was served at 7:00pm.
Shortly after dinner, Bruce Wilson and DJ Danny D led the crowd in a Holiday Trivia contest. Door prizes were announced every 15 minutes with give-a-ways like DVD players, Home Depot & Dunkin Donut's Gift Cards were given out to the crowd!
Dancing started shortly after the Holiday Trivia was complete and the celebration continued until 10:30pm.

With the win, SMCC improves to 11-2 and #1 in the USCAA Div 2 Rankings. With the loss, CMCC falls to 7-7 as we head into Christmas Break.
