In cozy Kirk Hall on the campus of Central Maine Community College, Maine Disc Jockey Danny DeBruin played with fellow alumnus in the annual men's basketball alumni game.
All-American Kaleb Violette was honored before the game and his jersey was retired into the "Mustang Hall of Fame". Kaleb set many school records during his 3 years at CMCC.
Now to the action….The game saw the young guns (CM's current team) jump out to a 14-6 lead in route to a 20 point halftime advantage. The closest the alumni came in the 2nd half was 12 points as the youth prevailed over the out-of-shape alumni players numbering 18.
On a personal level, DJ Danny D played about 17 minutes during the game, and scored 13 points – all in the 2nd half. The game was never close but it was great to be back on the hardwood after a long layoff.
The best part of the night was the annual post-game celebration at Gipper's Sports Grill in Auburn, ME. About 25 men's and women's alumni players watched the Red Sox on the big screen as they took a 2-0 series lead against the Colorado Rockies. "Good Times with Great Memories"
